Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of the Brazil national football team, has announced the squad for the team’s March training camp as preparations continue for upcoming international fixtures.

Brazil will play two friendly matches during the camp, facing France national football team on March 26 before taking on the Croatia national football team on March 31. The matches form part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is set to begin in June.

The squad announcement confirmed the continued absence of Brazilian star Neymar, who currently plays for Santos FC.

The forward has struggled with recurring injuries in recent months, preventing him from returning to full fitness.

Before the squad was revealed, Neymar spoke about his hopes of representing Brazil again.

“I want to return to the national team and play in the World Cup, but the decision is not in my hands,” he said. “Whether I’m called up or not, I will always support Brazil and wish the team success.”

Ancelotti explained that Neymar’s absence is primarily due to his physical condition.

“He is not at full fitness, and we need players who are completely ready,” the former Real Madrid manager said. “Neymar can play in the World Cup if he reaches full fitness.”

He added that the Brazilian forward must continue working hard and maintaining his physical condition in order to earn a future call-up.
