Anani Tackles Boosting Tourist Influx with TUI

Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled Al Anani discussed on Friday with TUI officials ways of boosting tourism and increasing the tourist influx to Egypt in the coming period.

In the presence of Vice Minister for Tourism at The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Ghada Shalaby, Anani reviewed new promotion programs, which include cultural and beach tourism, at international events and social media platforms to lure more tourists to the Egyptian destinations, according to a statement today.

During the meeting, Anani pointed out to an agreement, inked with the Civil Aviation Ministry, to operate flights between Luxor and Sharm El Sheikh for the first time. Another flight between Luxor and Hurghada is expected to be launched.

The minister noted that he agreed with the Civil Aviation Ministry on operating a direct flight from UK Gatwick Airport to Sharm El Sheikh Airport once a week in light of the UK government's decision on lifting travel ban to the Red Sea resort city.

He highlighted the expected opening of the Hurghada Museum, which is considered the first museum to be implemented in partnership with the private sector, mentioning the digitization of the ministry's revenues and the tickets of museums and archaeological sites.

In turn, TUI officials expressed their interest in launching new tourist programs, covering cultural tourism and beach tourism to attract different categories of tourists.

They hailed Egypt's infrastructure at all levels, pointing out that they are looking forward to investing in Egyptian hotels, especially green hotels.
