Egyptian Adventurer Sets New Guinness World Record

Dr. Yasmin Fouad, Egypt's Minister of Environment, expressed her happiness at the success of an Egyptian adventurer in setting a new Guinness World Record by covering a distance of 920 km on his electric bicycle over a period of 24 hours.

The minister expressed her happiness with the success of the Egyptian adventurer, Ali Abdo, in setting the record, in support of protecting the environment, by covering a distance of 920 km on his electric bicycle over a period of 24 hours in the new city of El Alamein Al Gadeda, Matrouh Governorate.

The minister added that this adventure is the first of its kind to be implemented in the city of El Alamein Al Gadeeda, to send a message to the world that Egypt has in mind the protection of the environment and the sustainability of its natural resources in building its future."

For his part, adventurer Ali Abdo explained that all the procedures and preparations that were implemented to record the Guinness World Record for the longest distance driving an electric motorcycle in 24 hours came under the auspices of the Ministries of Environment, Youth and Sports and the (Get ready for Green) campaign as an invitation to Egypt and the world to raise awareness of the importance of using clean energy in the direction towards using environmentally friendly means of transportation to achieve the goals of sustainable development and integrating the environmental dimension into our daily lives.

Abdo pointed out that the trip took place on a closed road with a length of 8 km 113 times, with a total distance of about 920 km in the new city of El Alamein for security and safety reasons and in accordance with the conditions of the Guinness Book of Records."

The adventurer Ali Abdo participated in the World Environment Day celebration last June by riding his electric bike for a distance of 1,000 km to encourage the transition to sustainable mobility. He started his journey from Alexandria to the Red Sea, highlighting the charging stations in Egypt and the experience of traveling with an electric motorcycle.
