The Egyptian ambassador in China Mohammed al Badri said that a passenger plane will arrive on Monday from Beijing to Cairo with 305 Egyptians on board.

Al-Badri explained that everyone, who informed the embassy of their desire to return to Egypt in a questionnaire conducted by the embassy for 3 days, confirmed their arrival at the airport with 'no one absent'. A Chinese wife also desires to accompany the group, yet, her request has not been settled yet.

The Egyptian ambassador explained that the procedure of returning citizens to Egypt is a remote evacuation process. Nevertheless, there is no transportation for the city that was closed by the Chinese army and Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Al-Badri added that the Chinese authorities imposed a 14-day health quarantine on the arrivals to the city, so the embassy sent a team to follow up the transfer of Egyptians wishing to leave Wuhan and return to Cairo.

He stressed that the embassy has a comprehensive plan, including a crisis room and the allocation of 13 buses to transport citizens with their belongings from all parts of China and transport them to the airport, in addition to a medical follow-up team.

Meantime, some citizens refused to return to the country, including 40 Egyptians in Wuhan. The ambassador emphasized that any refusal is an inpidual decision, in which everyone has full freedom.

He concluded that the plan's captain and his crew will be the last to leave China, explaining that they will not leave unless all citizens are on board.
