American actress Amanda Bynes is expected to be free from her conservatorship after nearly nine years.
Judge Roger L. Lund, who is assigned to Bynes' case, issued a tentative ruling on Monday, stating that the conservatorship is no longer required and that grounds for the establishment of a conservatorship of the person no longer exist.
The 35-year-old former child star filed last month to end her conservatorship of the person and estate.
The actress's mother Lynn was granted temporary conservatorship over her daughter in August 2013 when she allegedly set a driveway on fire and was hospitalized on an involuntary psychiatric hold. She then gained full conservatorship in October 2014.
Tamar Arminak, an attorney for Bynes' parents, told NBC News last month that they were 100 percent supportive of her decision to end the conservatorship.
The actress is known for rom-com movies like "She's the Man", "Hairspray", and "What a Girl Wants". Her last big-screen role was in 2010's "Easy A".
She announced her engagement to Michael, a man she met at her former sober living home in late 2019, on Valentine's Day 2020.
Earlier this month, Bynes shared a video on Instagram in which she thanked her fans for their love and support.
The ruling on the actress' conservatorship comes months after pop star Britney Spears had her 13-year conservatorship terminated in Los Angeles County court in November 2021.
