Veteran coach Massimiliano Allegri guided AC Milan to a long-awaited milestone, as the Rossoneri defeated their arch-rivals Inter Milan home and away in the Serie A during the 2025–2026 season, an achievement the club had not accomplished in 15 years.
Milan secured their latest victory in the iconic Derby della Madonnina with a 1–0 win at San Siro, reaffirming their dominance over Inter in both league meetings this season.
The decisive moment came in the 35th minute when Ecuadorian defender Pervis Estupiñán capitalized on a precise pass from Youssouf Fofana, firing a first-time shot into the net to secure three valuable points for Milan.
Estupiñán’s strike carried historic significance as well, making him the first Ecuadorian player to score in the history of the Milan derby.
With the win, Milan climbed to 60 points in second place in the Serie A standings, narrowing the gap with league leaders Inter, who remain on 67 points.
Earlier this season, Milan also won the first derby encounter 1–0, thanks to a goal from American winger Christian Pulisic.
The back-to-back derby victories mark the first time Milan have beaten Inter twice in the league since the 2010–2011 campaign, when Allegri was also in charge of the Rossoneri. ⚽🔥
