The Brazilian Football Confederation has announced the exclusion of Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper, from Brazil’s squad for the March international camp due to injury concerns.
In an official statement, the federation confirmed that Hugo Souza, who plays for Corinthians, will replace Alisson in the squad selected by Italian head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Arne Slot declined to comment on Alisson’s condition during a pre-match press conference ahead of the team’s upcoming Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Alisson recently played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool FC’s 4–0 victory over Galatasaray last week. However, he had missed the first leg against the Turkish side ten days earlier, suggesting the injury issue may still be affecting him.
British media reports indicate that Alisson is also expected to miss Liverpool’s upcoming match at the Amex Stadium against Brighton.
Brazil is set to play two friendly matches during the March break, facing France national football team on March 26 and Croatia national football team on March 31. Both matches will be held in the United States, in Boston and Orlando.
Looking ahead, Brazil will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup as part of Group C, alongside Morocco national football team, Haiti national football team, and Scotland national football team.
