A wave of frustration has reportedly swept through the camp of the Algeria national football team during its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, following what officials described as a serious breach of the team's privacy.
Led by head coach Vladimir Petković, Algeria is set to compete in Group J alongside the defending champions Argentina national football team, Jordan national football team, and Austria national football team.
According to reports from Spanish newspaper AS, Algeria had implemented strict security measures at its training base in Lawrence, Kansas, including closing training sessions to both media and supporters.
Despite those precautions, the team's preparations were allegedly compromised.
The Algerian Football Federation reportedly described the incident as a “serious violation of the team's privacy” after local broadcaster KMBC 9, affiliated with ABC, allegedly used drones to capture footage of Algeria's training sessions.
Algeria's recent friendly against Bolivia was played behind closed doors and without television coverage.
