Bayern Munich have completed Saturday the signing of Schalke keeper Alexander Nübel.

"FC Bayern Munich will sign Alexander Nübel for the 2020/21 season," the German club said on its official website.

The 23-year-old is set to join the Bavarians on July 1, 2020, on a free transfer as he will sign a five-year deal with the German club.

"The club and Nübel have agreed on the terms of a transfer in the last few days. The 23-year-old goalkeeper's contract with FC Schalke 04 expires on 30 June 2020. Nübel will join FC Bayern on a free transfer for five years on 1 July," Bayern Munich added.

Since 2015, Nübel played with Schalke's first team and he represented Grammy's U21 national team from 2017 till 2019.

The German club qualified for the Uefa Champions League last 16 as Group B winners after achieving the full mark on their group getting eighteen points from securing six victories.

They are set to square off against Chelsea on February 25 in the first leg of the last 16, while the second leg will be at Allianz Arena stadium on March 18.

Despite their disastrous form, Bayern was the only team to complete the group stage at the Uefa Champions League with a 100% record. They now rank third in the Bundesliga with thirty-three points.
