The Spanish rising icon Carlos Alcaraz defeated the title holder Novak Djokovic 1-6, 7-6(6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 in a 4 hours 42 minutes long thriller at the final of Wimbledon tournament.

Alcaraz became the first one to defeat Djokovic at Wimbledon in 6 years, and the first to defeat the Serbian star on Center Court since Andy Murray who did it 10 years ago.

It was also the first time for the Spanish star to advance to the Wimbledon's final.

Moreover, with Alcaraz's win, the record of Federer is secured as the most decorated men’s champion at The Championships with eight titles. Federer and Borg remain the only two men to win the grass Major five times in a row.

Alcaraz set various records with his win as he became the third Spanish man player to win the tournament after Manuel Santana (1966) and Rafael Nadal (2008, 2010).

He also is the third-youngest men’s champion at Wimbledon after Bjorn Borg and Boris Becker.

He is the fourth Spanish player to win various Grand Slam titles, after Nadal, Santana and Sergi Bruguera.

Alcaraz is the fifth man in the Open Era to win multiple Grand Slam titles before turning 21 after Mats Wilander, Borg, and Becker and Nadal.

He also captured his first Wimbledon title after a 5-set game like Nadal win his first Wimbledon tournament.

Regarding the international ranking, it seems that Alcaraz will secure his spot at the top of the international ranking until the end of the season.
