Alaa Mubarak Father-in-Law, Former Housing Min. Pay EGP 1,3 Bln to Settle Lawsuit

The National Committee for the Recovery of Funds and Assets Abroad approved on Saturday EGP more than EGP 1 billion to settle lawsuits against Alaa Mubarak's father-in-law Mohamed Magdi Hussein Rasekh former Egyptian housing minister Mohamed Ibrahim Soliman.

In a statement headed by Attorney General Hamada El-Sawy, the committee confirmed that a settlement had been approved in the requests submitted by the two defendants to reconcile on charges of squandering public funds and illegally allocating land.

The total amount submitted by the defendants in favor of the state amounted to EGP 1,316 billion.
