The game was the second round of the CAF Champions League group stage, and with this draw, Al Zamalek were put in a hard situation among the teams of their group.

In 55, Al Zamalek's goalkeeper Mohamed Awad prevented the hardest threat to the net for Al Marikh.
On the other hand, Al Marikh stopped the efforts of Al Zamalek to hit the net in 70, and in less than 8 minutes, Awad captured the goal to keep his sheet clean for this game.
