The forum aims to introduce the report of the International Commission on the Future of Education, discuss the elements of preparing a new social contract on education in Arab countries, and promote the integration of human rights education into educational curricula.
Director of the Human Rights Department of the League of Arab States, Director of the Human Rights Department of the League of Arab States, Minister Plenipotentiary Mounir Al-Fassi, affirmed that the League of Arab States will continue to give the field of education, with its various specializations and levels, the necessary priority, out of its belief that education as a right and development as a goal are “two inseparable ties.”
He continued: “We welcome the increase in the percentage of children enrolled in schools and the decrease in the illiteracy rate, despite our awareness of the necessity of redoubling efforts for girls in rural and remote areas. We also believe in the role of modern technology and digitization in developing the educational system, while being aware of the high cost of such investment, whether on governments or families.”
