Al-Ahly team leads Simba of Tanzania with a clean goal after 60 minutes of the match that is currently bringing them together at Cairo Stadium in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.
The start of the match was moderate, and Al-Ahly controlled the course of play and reached Simba’s penalty area on more than one occasion, but without threatening the goal. The first minute witnessed a controversy as a result of Reda Slim’s obstruction by the Tanzanian team’s defender, but the referee indicated that play should continue.
Simba threatened Al-Ahly's goal with a dangerous ball in the 35th minute, but it was saved by Mustafa Schubert. Al-Ahly regained control of the course of the game in the last 5 minutes of the first half, and Modeste threatened Simba's goal in the 45th minute, but it was saved by Simba's goalkeeper.
The Al-Raya referee canceled Al-Ahly’s lead goal in the 22nd minute, due to Hussein Al-Shahat being offside, who created the goal with a magic pass to Modeste, who gifted it to the left of the Tanzanian team’s goalkeeper.
Amr Al-Soulia, Al-Ahly player, scored the lead goal for his team against Simba of Tanzania in the 47th minute of the match. The goal came from Anthony Modeste, who shot it from the edge of the penalty area in the far right corner of the Tanzanian team’s goal.
