Almeria president Turki Al-Sheikh decided on Saturday to donate €500.000 million to help contain the coronavirus outbreak in Almeria.
"At the request of the club owner, Almeria will be donating €500.,000 million to combat the COVID-19 pandemic," the former Pyramids president said on his official Facebook page.
The money will be allocated for the purchase of health equipment to fight the virus, which claimed the thousands of people's lives around the world.
It is worth mentioning that Spain decided to suspend on March 12 all the domestic competitions across the country for two weeks.
On August 2, Al-Sheikh finished a purchase deal on Friday for the Spanish club UD Almeria.
On Friday, March 20, La Liga President Javier announced that the Spanish League will be resumed on April 16 at least.
According to Mundo Deportivo newspaper, Javier said that some Spanish clubs will play a match every 48 hours as the competition will end by June 30.
“We will play four matches every ten days,” La Liga president noted.
“Uefa Champions League, Europa League matches will take place at the weekends, especially on Saturday, and all the clubs, taking part in the European competitions, will not play in the league on Saturday and Sunday as their La Liga clashes will take place starting from Monday,” Javier explained.
