On Thursday, Turki Al Sheikh, the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, addressed the latest reports about moving the Cairo Derby between Al Ahly and Al Zamalek to KSA.

Al Sheikh said, during a phone interview with Ahmed Shobier on OnTime Sport, that both teams: Al Ahly, and Al Zamalek approved the deal of moving the game to KSA, adding that he was surprised with the approval of Al Ahly due to their African dates.

Al Sheikh also addressed that statements of the Al Zamalek Spokesperson Ahmed Salem about rejecting the offer of playing the EPL's Cairo Derby to the KSA, asserting that both teams accepted the suggestion of playing in the KSA.

After that, Al Sheikh said that moving the game to the KSA was a suggestion, and the file was put on hold as the FIFA regulations prevent the moving of any domestic pro league outside its country.

The Saudi official highlighted that the Saudi authorities agreed with both teams on future cooperation, especially after the great success of the Egypt Cup final between Al Ahly, and Al Zamalek.

The upcoming Cairo Derby is set for April 15 in Cairo Stadium in the Egyptian Premier League.
