Al Sadd SC secured the Qatar Stars League title for the 19th time in their history after a 3-2 victory over Al Shamal SC at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in the final round of the season.

Al Sadd took control early, with Akram Afif opening the scoring in the 20th minute, followed by a quick second goal from Roberto Firmino just two minutes later.

In the second half, Baghdad Bounedjah pulled one back for Al Shamal in the 65th minute before Otavio restored Al Sadd’s two goal lead three minutes later.

Firmino thought he had added another goal in the 73rd minute, but it was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.

Mourilo scored a late second goal for Al Shamal in the 85th minute, but it was not enough to prevent Al Sadd from sealing the win and the title.

The victory sees Al Sadd finish top of the table with 45 points, recording 14 wins, three draws, and five defeats, with 56 goals scored and 30 conceded.

Al Shamal, featuring Egyptian midfielder Akram Tawfik, finished second with 40 points, five behind the champions.

Al Sadd had also won the first leg meeting between the two sides earlier in the season with a 3-0 victory, underlining their dominance throughout the campaign.
