Al Nassr secured a hard-fought place in the 2025 Saudi Super Cup final after defeating Al Ittihad 2-1 on Tuesday evening at Hong Kong Stadium in the semi-final clash.
Sadio Mané put Al-Nassr ahead in the 10th minute, before sending off the game after receiving a red card in the 25th minute.
Al Ittihad equalized quickly through Steven Bergwijn in the 16th minute.
The decisive moment came in the 61st minute when João Félix scored Al-Nassr’s second goal, set up by veteran Cristiano Ronaldo, sealing the victory despite being down to ten men.
The game was highly anticipated due to the mutual history between Ronaldo and Benzema in Real Madrid, in addition to Benzema's statements that the best would win.
With this win, Al Nassr advance to face the winner of Wednesday’s other semi-final between Al Ahli and Al-Qadsiah.
The Riyadh giants entered the competition with high morale after a busy summer transfer window, aiming to deliver a first official trophy alongside Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and make amends for last season’s setbacks.
Al Ittihad, meanwhile, took part as Saudi league and King’s Cup champions, while Al Nassr qualified after finishing third in last season’s Saudi Pro League.
This year’s Saudi Super Cup is being staged in Hong Kong from August 19 to 23.
