Al Nassr supporters showed clear backing for team captain Cristiano Ronaldo during the high-profile Saudi Pro League clash against Al Ittihad, despite the Portuguese star’s continued absence from the lineup.

Al Nassr hosted Al Ittihad at Al Awwal Park in Riyadh in the marquee fixture of Matchday 21 of the Roshn Saudi League.

Although Ronaldo was not involved for the second consecutive match, his presence was strongly felt in the stands.

Just seven minutes into the match, Al Nassr fans raised yellow cards bearing the number 7 and chanted Ronaldo’s name in a coordinated show of support, sending a clear message of solidarity with the club’s iconic forward.

Ronaldo’s absence comes amid ongoing reports of tension between the player and the club’s management.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star had also refused to feature in the previous league match against Al Riyadh.

According to multiple media reports, Ronaldo is frustrated with what he perceives as unequal treatment of Al Nassr by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund compared to rival clubs, particularly in terms of squad reinforcement and financial management.

Portuguese media further reported in recent hours that Ronaldo has decided not to play in the Saudi Pro League until outstanding salary payments at Al Nassr are settled, with the player still awaiting a resolution to the issue.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future and current standoff, the reaction from Al Nassr’s supporters underlined Ronaldo’s enduring popularity and influence, as fans made it clear they stand firmly behind their captain during a turbulent period for the club.
