Al Ahli achieved a key victory over their guest, Al Nassr, winning 3–2 in an exciting match held on Friday evening at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium as part of the twelfth round of the Saudi Pro League.
Al Ahli took the lead with two goals scored by their English striker Ivan Toney in the 7th and 20th minutes of the match.
Al Nassr defender Abdulilah Al Amri managed to score two goals for his team in the 31st and 44th minutes.
In the second half, Turkish defender Merih Demiral scored Al Ahli’s third goal in the 55th minute.
Al Ahli player Ali Majrashi was sent off in the sixth minute of stoppage time, while Al Nassr player Nawaf Boushal received a red card in the 90+9th minute.
With this result, Al-Nassr suffered their first defeat in the Saudi League this season.
Al Ahli raised their points tally to 25 points, placing them fourth, while Al-Nassr remained on 31 points at the top of the Saudi League table.
However, they are now under threat of losing the lead if second-placed Al Hilal defeat Damac on Sunday.
