Al Nassr defeated Ittihad Jeddah 2-0 in a highly anticipated Saudi Pro League clash at the Al Inma Stadium in Jeddah on Matchday 4.
The visitors opened the scoring early in the 9th minute when Sadio Mané fired a superb left-footed strike into the bottom corner after connecting with a precise cross from French teammate Kingsley Coman.
Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the advantage in the 35th minute, rising high to head home a pinpoint delivery from Mané, giving Al Nassr a commanding lead before halftime.
With this victory, Al Nassr topped the Saudi Pro League standings with 12 points, followed by Al Ittihad with 9 points.
Historically, the rivalry has been closely contested. Since the Saudi Pro League’s inception, the two sides have met 34 times: Al Nassr hold 13 wins, Al Ittihad 12, while nine matches ended in draws.
However, this game is the second between both teams this season after the Saudi Super Cup game, which reflected a deep competition between the former Real Madrid icons: Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. The game ended in favour of the Riyadh-based club.
