Saudi Pro League champions Al-Nassr have appointed Australian manager Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach on a two-year contract, the club announced on Friday.
"A new chapter. Mr. Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as head coach of the Al-Nassr first team. The contract spans two seasons," the club said in an official statement. "We wish him and his staff every success in their journey."
The 60-year-old takes charge of an Al-Nassr side captained by Cristiano Ronaldo, who helped the club secure the Saudi Pro League title on the final day of the 2025-26 season.
Postecoglou arrives in Saudi Arabia looking to revive his managerial career after difficult spells in the Premier League.
He guided Tottenham Hotspur to the UEFA Europa League title in 2025 but was dismissed just two weeks later following a disappointing 17th-place finish in the league.
His subsequent stint at Nottingham Forest lasted only 39 days, with the club parting ways after he failed to win any of his first eight matches, suffering six defeats during that run.
Before accepting the Al-Nassr job, Postecoglou had been linked with the Scotland national team following Steve Clarke's resignation after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while Kazakhstan were also reportedly interested.
However, media reports suggested his salary demands proved too high for the Central Asian nation.
Despite his recent setbacks, Postecoglou remains one of the most accomplished managers of his generation.
He won two Scottish Premiership titles with Celtic and also claimed league championships with Brisbane Roar in Australia and Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan.
Known for building successful teams in his second season, Postecoglou will now aim to continue that trend as he begins a new chapter with Al-Nassr.
