Saturday afternoon, Al Nassr will face Al Ahli in the final of the Saudi Super Cup, currently being held in Hong Kong.

Al Nassr booked their place in the final with a 2-1 victory over Al Ittihad, while Al Ahli secured their spot in emphatic fashion, defeating Al Qadsiah 5-1 in the semi-final.

Al Nassr received a major boost ahead of the final, with French star Kingsley Coman declared fit to face Al Ahli after being forced off with an injury against Al Ittihad, according to Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah.

However, the team will be without Senegalese forward Sadio Mané, who was sent off with a straight red card following a heavy challenge on goalkeeper Hamed Al-Shanqeeti. His dismissal left Al Nassr playing with 10 men for much of the semi-final, though they still managed to advance.

This year marks the 12th edition of the Saudi Super Cup. Five clubs have lifted the trophy so far: Al-Hilal leads with five titles, followed by Al-Nassr (2), while Al-Fateh, Al-Shabab, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad have each won once.

Speaking ahead of the game, Al Ahli head coach Matthias Jaissle expressed his confidence and excitement, “Al Nassr is a very different team compared to last season. They are realistic, they have invested heavily and made many changes. But we are also a strong team, and we aim to win.”

He added, “The players are highly motivated. Winning a title at the start of the season is very important—it sets the tone for the rest of the campaign. These matches are decided by small details, and we must stay fully focused.”

Jaissle also dismissed concerns about Al-Ahli’s late invitation to the tournament following Al Hilal’s withdrawal, “It didn’t affect us much; we just had to adjust our schedule. Our focus is on representing the team in the best possible way.”

On the other side, Al Nassr manager Jorge Jesus underlined his team’s readiness for the big occasion: “In finals, no one can guarantee victory—it’s always 50-50. The match will be decided on the pitch. I believe in my players, and although we are still at the start of our journey together, I trust their ability to deliver.”

Addressing the absence of Mané, Jesus admitted it was a setback but remained optimistic: “Of course, Mané is an important player both offensively and defensively. It’s difficult to replace him, but we have alternatives. The final training session will determine his replacement, and I am confident we can still perform strongly.”
