Al Masry Qualify For Confederation Cup Group Stage

Egypt's Al Masry has qualified for the Confederation Cup Group Stage after smashing Côte d’Or with six unanswered goals on aggregate.

The Egyptian club started the game so fiercely as early as after only twenty-one minutes when midfielder Farid Shawky sent a well-played cross into Côte d’Or's penalty area, where Ahmed Gomaa planted the ball into the net with a powerful header.

Gomaa confirmed his side's well-deserved victory by netting the second goal through his great follow-up. The Green Eagles had partly booked their place in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after smashing Côte d’Or with four unanswered four goals in the away game.

Forward Ahmed Yasser had put his side ahead, netting the first goal after only seven minutes in the away game.

Seven minutes later, Mahmoud Wadi added the second for his side, before Omoto and Ahmed Gomaa cemented their lead, sealing the victory with four clean goals.

Al Masry qualified for the last 32 of the CAF Confederation Cup after smashing Malindi at Borg Al Arab 7-2 on Aggregate.

Al Masry made an ideal start to their adventure in the Confederation Cup by demolishing Malindi 4-1 in the away game on Sunday, September 15. They are taking part in this tournament as they finished fourth in the Egyptian Premier League.
