Al-Mashat, Bobby Chinn Tackle Opportunities for Training Egyptian Chefs

Tourism Minister Dr. Rania Al-Mashat discussed with the international chef Bobby Chinn aspects of cooperation to promote Egypt and opportunities of training Egyptian chefs to benefit from his creative culinary ideas.

Al-Mashat pointed out the Tourism Ministry pays great attention to the human factor and improving the efficiency of the tourism sector's staff which is one of the main pillars of the Egypt-Tourism Reform Program (E-TRP).

"The local dishes of each country, currently, contribute to attracting tourists. Culinary tourism is a growing trend, as it provides insight into the authentic local culture and highlights the power of memorable experiences," the minister said.

Meanwhile, Chinn expressed his readiness for cooperating with the Egyptian ministry, voicing his great interest in promoting Egypt globally, especially he has Egyptian origins.

He noted that he is looking forward to teaching a new generation of chefs culinary arts.

Al-Mashat and Chinn toured Al Moez Ldin Allah Al Fatmi street and Al-Hussain area where people were keen on taking pictures with the international chef.

Chinn, 55, is also a television presenter, cookbook author, and restaurateur. He is a culinary celebrity across the Middle East and Asia, thanks to his role as host of Discovery TLC's "World Cafe".

He was a judge on MBC's "Top Chef the Middle East version." He graduated with a BA in Finance and Economics from Richmond College. He worked on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
