Knowledge Hub Universities to Open in New Administrative Capital

The new Knowledge Hub Universities will be opened in the Administrative Capital in 2020 in a branch of Coventry University.

El Sewedy Education, the local partner, provides the Campus with logistics according to foreign partner’s requirements, while the foreign partner provides curricula, teaching staff and practical side of process. Thus, the students at The Knowledge Hub Universities will have a certificate from the main university in the United Kingdom.

SEE conducted an interview with El Sewedy Education CEO Ihab Salama to know more about the objectives of The Knowledge Hub Universities.

El Sewedy Education was established in 2018 as an investment organization in the educational field to provide high level educational process.

The Knowledge Hub Universities has a branch of Coventry University in the United Kingdom offers engineering and media education starting in September.

Coventry University has a long tradition as a provider of education. Roots of the university go as far back as Coventry College of Design in 1843. In 1970, Coventry College of Art amalgamated with Lanchester College of Technology and Rugby College of Engineering Technology.

In 2019, The Times and Sunday Times newspapers awarded Coventry University Good University Guide. It also won The Guardian University Guide.

Students attending The Knowledge Hub Universities will have the same quality of education provided in the United Kingdom and a chance to go attend an educational term or year in the United Kingdom.

Salama said three faculties will be launched as a starter. Engineering, Computer Science, and Media will be the first domains opening in the The Knowledge Hub Universities. Nine fields will open in the three faculties, including the first ever Digital Media domain in Egypt. Also, College of Business Administration will open and “we seek a partnership with a University in the UK, Finland, the US and Europe to choose from the faculty that meets the demands of the Egyptian as well as international labour markets.

"The number of students will be 800 in the first educational term," he said, adding that the number will grow during the first 10 years to 15,000.

"The fees will range between 290,000 pounds in Engineering and Computer Science Faculties while 270,000 pounds in Media Faculty," he explained, adding that the fees for foreign students will be in the currency chosen.
