Al Ittihad Al Sakandari SC announced that their Ugandan player Emmanuel Okwi has contracted Corona virus while in his country after his swab result came out positive.
The player had undergone the test in preparation for returning to Egypt and joining the team's training sessions and matches, but the positive result compelled him to postponed his flight.
The player was isolated and is following the treatment protocol, and he is going to undergo a new swab after a few days in order to check his health.
Al Ittihad Club is preparing to face its counterpart Pyramids in the first round of Egypt's Premier League, scheduled for next Saturday at 17:00 CLT.
