Saudi giants Al Hilal officially announced the renewal of Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou’s contract until 2028, securing the international star’s presence between the posts for three more seasons.
The club’s official account on X posted: “Al Hilal’s net is safe until 2028,” celebrating the extension of one of their key players since his arrival from Sevilla in the summer of 2023.
The announcement came on a special day for Al Hilal, as the club also celebrated Salem Al-Dawsari’s coronation as the 2025 Asian Footballer of the Year.
Since joining the Riyadh-based side, Bounou has played 99 matches across all competitions, conceding 94 goals and keeping 38 clean sheets, cementing his reputation as one of the Saudi Pro League’s top goalkeepers.
The Moroccan star also impressed at the FIFA Club World Cup, topping the list of goalkeepers with the most saves in the latest edition, 23 in total, including 15 from inside the penalty area, according to global statistics site SofaScore.
