Al Hilal have confirmed fresh injury concerns after both Karim Benzema and Salem Al-Dawsari were ruled out of training.
Benzema missed group training after suffering lower back pain during a recent session. The French striker underwent treatment at the club’s medical clinic, with no clear timeline yet announced for his return.
In a further setback, Al Hilal revealed that Al Dawsari is dealing with a knee injury. The 34-year-old has been an important contributor this season, making 29 appearances with 10 goals and 10 assists.
Al Dawsari has struggled with fitness throughout the campaign, having already sustained multiple injuries that kept him out for extended periods.
Off the pitch, efforts by Al Hilal to strengthen their management team have also faced obstacles.
Liverpool FC rejected an approach for sporting director Richard Hughes, despite strong interest from the Saudi side.
According to Ben Jacobs, Al Hilal were keen to appoint Hughes as part of a broader restructuring project.
However, club owners Fenway Sports Group refused to sanction his departure, insisting he remains central to Liverpool’s plans.
On the field, Al Hilal are preparing for their upcoming Saudi Pro League fixture against Damac FC as they continue their pursuit of league leaders Al Nassr.
