Al Hilal have officially announced that French striker Karim Benzema will miss Tuesday’s Saudi Pro League fixture against Al Taawoun FC due to injury.
In a statement released by the club, Al Hilal confirmed that Benzema did not travel with the squad to Qassim after experiencing discomfort in his adductor muscle. The forward is set to undergo medical examinations and scans on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury and assess his availability for upcoming matches.
Al Hilal are scheduled to face Al Taawoun at 9:00 p.m. local time, with the Riyadh giants aiming to strengthen their position at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings.
The team will be looking to secure all three points away from home despite the absence of their star forward.
Benzema made an immediate impact following his arrival, netting a remarkable hat-trick in his debut against Al Akhdoud.
However, he has since endured a brief goal drought in matches against Al Ettifaq and Al Ittihad, despite delivering strong overall performances.
The club has yet to provide a timeline for his return, pending the outcome of medical assessments.
