Al Hilal Complete Signing of Dutch Winger Crysencio Summerville

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have officially announced the signing of Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United, ending speculation over the forward's future and beating several European clubs to his signature.

The deal is reportedly worth an initial £68.23 million, with Summerville completing all formalities before being unveiled by the Saudi club.

Manchester United had identified the 24-year-old as one of their priority attacking targets this summer. 

New manager Michael Carrick was keen to strengthen the left wing, particularly amid continued uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford’s future.

United held discussions with West Ham earlier in the transfer window, but competition for the Netherlands international intensified following his standout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Italian side AS Roma also emerged as serious contenders for the winger, but Al-Hilal ultimately secured the deal after presenting a significantly stronger financial offer.

Summerville impressed during the World Cup, scoring two goals and providing two assists for the Netherlands, performances that attracted widespread interest from clubs across Europe.

Following Summerville's move to Saudi Arabia, Manchester United are expected to shift their attention to alternative attacking targets as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Red Devils have already strengthened their squad this summer with the arrivals of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow, and Tynan Thompson, while the club continues its search for another midfielder before the Premier League campaign begins.
