Datuk Senator Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, a member of the Muslim Council of Elders and Malaysia's former Minister of Islamic Affairs has indicated that justice and tolerance are two of Islam's most important values and that justice is a divine law and a human necessity by which humanity is gratified, and it is also a cause for the preservation, renaissance, and growth of nations.

During the tenth episode of the 'Values of Humanity with the Elders' program which airs on the Muslim Council of Elders' social media channels during the holy month of Ramadan, Al-Bakri said, "Justice is the foundation of Islam, and it implies treating people equally and fairly, without discrimination or favouritism. Tolerance in Islam is coexisting in peace, love, and respect, and not being violent or rallying against others, but rather engaging with them with understanding, kindness, and compassion."

Malaysia's former Minister of Islamic Affairs added, " It is worth noting that Islam promotes justice and tolerance in all areas, including interpersonal relationships and international affairs. Islam regards justice as the foundation for social peace and stability, and Islam provides an array of regulations and commands that deal with justice and tolerance. Almighty Allah Said, (Indeed, Allah commands justice, grace, as well as a courtesy to close relatives. He forbids indecency, wickedness, and aggression. He instructs you so perhaps you will be mindful.)"

Al-Bakri concluded by stating, "Fairness is a significant ideal that Islam introduced and encouraged for both those who support it and those who reject it. Likewise, justice is a divine law and a human necessity by which humanity is gratified, and it is also a cause for the preservation, renaissance, and growth of nations."

The Muslim Council of Elders’ social media pages will broadcast a total of 5 programs during the holy month of Ramadan which falls in line with the Council’s strategy to employ all avenues to promote the values of dialogue, peace and coexistence. Programs include Al-Imam Al-Tayeb, Crescent of Coexistence, With the Elders, Youth Peacemakers and Think About Your Fasting.
