Al-Azhar Al-Sharif reiterates its salute to the steadfast Palestinians and appreciates their keen clinging to their dear homeland and perseveringly holding on to its soil, regardless of the cost and sacrifices involved. Indeed, their lands represent their dignity and their honor.
In a message to those clinging to their lands, Al-Azhar said: “You’d better die on your lands as knights, heroes, and martyrs than leave it defenseless before the usurping colonialists. You should know that abandoning your lands means death to your cause, which is ours too, and eliminating it irreversibly,".
Al-Azhar also called on the Arab and Muslim governments to take a serious and unified stance in the face of this inhumane Western circumvention in support of the Zionist violation of all the rights of innocent Palestinians and to conduct an international investigation into the war crimes being committed by the Zionist entity against children, women and the elderly in the besieged and isolated Gaza Strip.
It also urged the Arab and Muslim countries to live up to their religious and historical duty and responsibilities and provide immediate humanitarian and relief aid, and ensure its safe delivery to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Azhar pointed out that supporting innocent Palestinian civilians through official channels is a religious and legal duty and a moral and humanitarian obligation. Therefore, it asserts, history will not appreciate those who neglect such duty.
It warned that targeting civilians, including defenseless women, children, and the elderly, and the bombarding of hospitals, markets, ambulances, mosques, and schools, where civilians are taking shelter, are explicit war crimes. Israeli’s war crimes also include the stifling siege of the Gaza Strip in an inhumane manner, the use of heavy weapons banned according to international laws and common ethics, the cutting out of electricity and water, and preventing access to food supplies and humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip, especially the hospitals and health centers. All of this is a marked genocide and a war crime in the full sense of the word. It is also a shame and disgrace for the Zionists, their supporters, and whoever stands behind them.
Al-Azhar added that the inhumane and unlimited Western support for the Zionist entity and approval of its crimes, and the witnessed fanatical and biased anti-Palestinian Western media coverage is a lie that exposes the false calls for freedoms that the West claims to uphold and ensure. This also confirms their sophistry, falsification of facts, double standards, misleading international public opinion, and complicity in sustaining arrogant power against innocent Palestinian civilians. It opens the door wide for the most heinous crimes of Zionist terrorism in Palestine.
