Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif firmly condemns the two terrorist bombings that took place today, near the cemetery of the city of Kerman, in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which left ‎more than 100 dead and nearly 200 injured, according to Iranian official media reports.‎

Al-Azhar also affirms its categorical rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that target and ‎terrorize the innocents and violate the sanctities of the living and the dead, renewing its demand ‎for necessary action toward a global strategy to eliminate terrorism, rid the world of its evils, and ‎ensure security and peace for individuals and societies.‎

While Al-Azhar condemns this cowardly terrorist incident, it expresses its sincere condolences to ‎the families of the victims and the Iranian people, calling on Allah Almighty to shower mercy and ‎forgiveness on the victims and to grant the injured a speedy recovery; "We belong to Allah and ‎unto Him, we shall return".‎
