Al-Azhar expresses its deep regret over the extremist statements made by the German Foreign Minister regarding her country’s support for the Zionist entity’s bombing of civilian shelters in Gaza. Al-Azhar affirms that these statements are a moral and political setback, a civilizational regression, and a political justification that allows criminals to kill innocent civilians and wipe off populations from the face of the earth. These statements are also clear evidence of blind bias in supporting Zionist terrorism and endorsing its crimes.
Al-Azhar stresses that the issue of such extremist statements by a high-ranking official is an alarming precedent, as it carries explicit support and actual complicity with this entity in killing civilians, including children, women, and youth.
Al-Azhar also expresses regret over these inciting statements issued by officials who were expected to mediate and work towards an immediate cessation of the aggression that has lasted for over a year. The free peoples of Europe, America, and the entire world have unanimously condemned this aggression. However, the hopes of humanity were dashed when the German Minister chose to side with the perpetrators, thereby threatening all mediation efforts to stop the aggression.
Al-Azhar reminds the German Foreign Minister of her country’s humanitarian stance in receiving refugees from various parts of the world over the past few years due to the oppressive conditions in their home countries because of wars and conflicts. This is fundamentally at odds with her extremist statement, which stems from a historical guilt complex. Al-Azhar emphasizes that this statement represents a disgrace in German politics and marks its shift from supporting humanitarian causes to inciting the perpetration of heinous crimes against defenseless civilians.
