Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif condemns in the strongest terms the heinous crime committed by the treacherous occupying entity through the assassination of the Palestinian leader, Ismail Haniyeh. He was assassinated by criminals at dawn today, as part of a series of heinous attacks perpetrated by the occupying entity.
Al-Azhar confirms that the struggling martyr, Haniyeh spent his life defending his land and the cause of the Arabs and Muslims, the cause of free Palestine. It also confirms that such assassinations will not undermine the determination of the struggling Palestinian people who have made - and continue to make - great sacrifices to restore their rights to establish the independent State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Azhar offers sincere condolences and sympathy to the Palestinian people and the family of the martyred struggler, asking Allah Almighty to bestow vast mercy on the deceased and to instill in his family and relatives patience and solace; “To Allah, we belong and unto Him, we shall return.”
