On Wednesday, the Port of Al-Arish announced the closure of its harbor entrance for both incoming and outgoing ships, due to the unstable weather conditions along the Mediterranean coastline in North Sinai.

This decision was made to ensure the safety of ships and their passengers and to avoid any accidents that might result from the strong winds and high waves that have affected the region since this morning.

Sources confirmed that the harbor entrance will remain closed until the weather improves and maritime operations can resume safely.

These measures are being implemented by the guidelines and regulations issued by the Suez Canal Authority, which is committed to enforcing the highest standards of maritime safety.

The procedures are being carried out in coordination with the relevant authorities to secure the port, while ensuring that all teams working at the port are prepared to monitor the situation closely.

North Sinai is currently experiencing moderate to strong winds, accompanied by high sea waves.
