On Wednesday, sources told Al-Arabiya that Egypt stipulated that Iran stop Iranian interference in Arab countries in order to normalize relations with it.

The sources added that Iran demanded, in secret telegrams, through intermediaries, to hold meetings with Egyptian officials. They indicated that Iran is seeking to establish channels of communication with Egypt, starting with security coordination.

According to Al-Arabiya, Egypt conveyed messages to Iran rejecting the militias loyal to Tehran in Iraq. It warned Iran of the consequences of any threat to the security of the Red Sea.

The sources indicated that Egypt is closely following Iranian activities in African countries. Cairo has reservations about the normalization of relations with Iran because of its interference in the region
