Al Ahly's winger Ramadan Sobhi is set for a six-week stint on the sidelines with a muscular injury, club doctor Khaled Mahmoud announced Wednesday.

Mahmoud noted that Sobhi suffered a muscular injury during Tuesday's training session and he was not able to resume the training.

"He will undergo a rehabilitation program that will last for six weeks before returning to the training and matches," the club doctor said to Al Ahly's official website.

The Red Devils are set to clash against Ismaily in the Egyptian League on Thursday at 19:30 (CLT).

Last summer, the Red Devils' management renewed Sobhi's loan deal for another one season from the English side Huddersfield.

The 22-year-old talented player delivered an outstanding performance with the Pharaohs' U-23 national team as he guided them to claim the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, as well as, advancing to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Al Ahly now leads the Egyptian League leadership with 18 points, one point ahead of Ittihad of Alexandria, who are in the second spot.

On Friday, Al Ahly completed Friday the signing of the Egyptian midfielder Mahmoud Kahraba after terminating his contract with Desportivo das Aves.

Noteworthy, the Red Devils led the search of the clubs on Twitter in 2019, followed by Zamalek (2nd), and Ittihad of Alexandria (3rd).
