Spanish club Barcelona announced on Tuesday that they have activated the purchase option for Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim from Al Ahly, making his move permanent.
The 18-year-old forward has signed a three-season contract with the Catalan club, running until 30 June 2029.
Barcelona said Abdel Karim will continue his career with the club after a successful initial spell, with the deal now officially completed with the Egyptian side.
The young striker is currently taking part in the World Cup with Egypt, where he has featured in two matches against Belgium and New Zealand. His performances with the national team have continued to attract attention.
Abdel Karim joined Barcelona during the winter transfer window and began his journey with the club after the completion of administrative procedures.
He then featured for Barcelona’s Juvenil A side, quickly making an impression with his performances from his first appearances.
The Egyptian talent has scored six goals with the youth team, strengthening his position as one of the promising young players to watch within Barcelona’s development structure.
