Al Ahly SC welcomed the original FIFA World Cup trophy at El Tetch Stadium at the club’s headquarters in Cairo, as part of the trophy’s global promotional tour, which is visiting a large number of countries across different continents.
A formal photo session was held with Al Ahly officials, first-team players, and the technical, administrative, and medical staff alongside a delegation from FIFA. The event was attended by Italian football legend Fabio Cannavaro, who led the FIFA delegation accompanying the trophy.
The tour precedes the upcoming FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place between June and July later this year in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marking the first edition in history to feature 48 national teams.
Egypt qualified for the tournament following a strong run in the African qualifiers under head coach Hossam Hassan, with star forward Mohamed Salah playing a central role while continuing his standout performances with Liverpool FC.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly are preparing for a busy period across the competitions they are contesting. Under head coach Jesús Torup, the team is set to play several important matches during January 2026, including a challenging encounter against Pharco in the sixth round of the League Cup.
