The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed Al Ahly and Sudan's Al Merrikh SC match, which was scheduled in the first round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League competition.
According to the official website of the African Confederation, Thursday, CAF decided to postpone the Al Ahly and Al Merrikh match, due to the participation of the Egyptian champion in the FIFA Club World Cup 2020 in Qatar.
The group stage Al Ahly vs Al Merrikh fixture was scheduled to be held on the 12th or 13th of February, but the match was moved the 16th of the same month, as confirmed by CAF.
The Red Devils are at the top of Group A in the CAF Champions League group stage, with the trio (Sudan's Al Merrikh SC- Tanzania's Simba SC - AS Vita Club of Congo).
The red team will participate in the Club World Cup during the period from February 4th till the 11th of the same month.
They will debut their World Cup clashes with a game against Qatari Al Duhail SC on the 4th of February in the quarter-finals, with the winner of this match to face European champion Bayern Munich.
