Al Ahly Top Africa and Arab World in 2021–2025 Global Club Rankings

Al Ahly SC has emerged as the highest-ranked African, Arab, and Egyptian club in the latest global standings released by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) for the 2021–2025 period.

Al Ahly secured 23rd place worldwide with 1,086 points, outperforming several major European clubs including Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, AC Milan, Napoli, AFC Ajax, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Boca Juniors, Olympique de Marseille, and Olympique Lyonnais.

Egypt’s Pyramids FC ranked 64th globally and second in Africa with 807.25 points, while Zamalek SC placed 89th worldwide and third continentally with 704.5 points.

Other African clubs featured prominently, including Mamelodi Sundowns FC (101st), Wydad AC (116th), Espérance de Tunis (118th), and RS Berkane (122nd).

At the top of the global list stands Real Madrid, followed by Manchester City in second place and CR Flamengo in third. Paris Saint-Germain ranked fourth, with Palmeiras completing the top five.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC secured 10th place, behind FC Barcelona (9th), Chelsea FC (8th), Inter Milan (7th), and Bayern Munich (6th).

The rankings underscore Al Ahly’s sustained continental dominance and consistent performances on the international stage over the past five years, cementing the Cairo giants’ status as Africa’s premier club side in the modern era.
