Sources: Al Ahly Terminates Contract with Weiler

Al Ahly's officials have informed current head coach Rene Weiler that his contract with the Red Devils will be terminated on Thursday.

Sources in Al Ahly have said that the Swiss coach will leave the club after the Red Devils' clash against Tersana in the Egyptian Cup, as Al Ahly officials refused to renew Weiler's contract for another month.

On Monday, Weiler booked his ticket to travel to Switzerland on Wednesday to spend a vacation with his family.

Speculations have been raised during the last period about the Swiss coach future with the Red Devils as he or Al Ahly can terminate the contract signed between the both parties during the first ten days of October without paying the release clause.

Weiler will take the plane, carrying him to Switzerland, after Al Ahly's clash against Tersana in the Egyptian Cup.

It is worth mentioning that, Al Ahly have announced that they would take the final decision regarding head coach René Weiler's future on Thursday.

In a statement, the Red Devils said that the decision came after knowing everything from the Swiss coach and in the light of the contract signed between two parties.

Weiler has an option in his contract to leave the Red Devils for free without paying his six-month release clause and the same thing to Al Ahly, if they wants to sack the Swiss coach between October 1 and October 10.

The statement also added that all the speculations raised about the departure of Weiler were wrong.

It also stressed that the board of directors have not discussed the a successor to the Swiss coach, affirming that the final decision will be taken at the aforementioned date.
