Al Ahly Refuse to Renew Hossam Ashour's Contract

Al Ahly announced on Friday that they would not renew Hossam Ashour's contract.

The Red Devils planning committee, headed by Mohsen Saleh informed Al Ahly's captain that he would not be among the squad during the upcoming period.

The committee said that the decision was taken according to the view of the head coach René Weiler.

On his part, the 34-year-old player expressed his anger over the recent decision.

Al Ahly's captain said that the club asked him to retire or play to another club.

" I have not decide my fate yet. Of course, I wanted to end my football career in Al Ahly, " Ashour said.

It is worth mentioning that Ashour started his career with Al Ahly when he was at the age of 17 as he managed to claim 36 titles with the Red Devils.
