Egypt's Al-Ahly held a press conference on Monday to present the Red Devils' new head coach René Weiler on Sunday.
"I am very proud of my presence at Al-Ahly. I know their traditions and great fans," Weiler said.
"I will spare no effort to achieve the Red Devils' goals in the upcoming period. We have to win all the tournaments, so we will try so hard to do so," the Swiss coach added.
"I promise the Reds' fans to do our best to achieve their dreams. We, as a coaching staff, have a great passion to start our new adventure with the Red Devils," he explained.
"I know that the Egyptian player is talented, as I worked before with Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet when I led Anderlecht on July 1, 2016," Weiler remarked.
Weiler will have three foreign assistants in his technical staff.
The Swiss coach, who was a former FC Zurich defender, began his managerial career in 2002, leading Swiss club FC Winterthur. He led then several clubs, such as FC St. Gallen, FC Schaffhausen, and FC Aarau, German club FC Nürnberg, and Belgium giants Anderlecht.
Weiler's last step before leading Al-Ahly was FC Luzern, but he left the Swiss club following a dispute with the management.
It is worth mentioning that Weiler succeeds the Uruguayan coach Martin Lasarte, who was sacked after Al-Ahly’s elimination from the Egyptian Cup competition as they suffered a 1-0 defeat from Pyramids.
