Al Ahly SC officials are doing their best to conclude the most prominent deal for the current technical staff.
The inclusion of Uruguayan Gaston Sirino the Mamelodi Sundowns South African club player, has become a dream after he became one of the most needed players within the ancient Cairo club, according to Skynewsarabia.
Al Ahly had made several attempts to win the services of the brilliant Uruguayan Sundowns player.
The Red team have contacted the player and his agent over the past months, before the Egyptian champion obtained the approval of the rising star to be included within the team, making the Red Devils begin their negotiations with Sundowns FC to settle the deal.
South African Pitso Mosimane, who took charge of coaching Al Ahly at the beginning of last October succeeding Swiss Rene Weiler, knows well the skills of Sirino, also known as "the jewel" of Sundowns, since he coached the South African club for nearly two seasons, in which the team had great results.
Mosimane plays an important role in completing the deal, taking advantage of his strong relationship with the Uruguayan player, and the Red Castle began their bid to sign the player with $2 mln, then the bid was raised to $2.5 mln, before the last offer made reached $3 mln.
If the deal is concluded with this value, this will make Sirino the most expensive professional player that Al Ahly have ever paid for.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly football director Sayed Abdel Hafeez affirmed that the Uruguayan player is "already a candidate" for joining the Red team, refusing to disclose any other details.
Sirino, 29, began his journey with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018, coming from Bolivar club.
The Uruguayan has led his team to winning the South African Premier League three years in a row, in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons.
