Al Ahly officials have asked their counterparts at Portuguese club Alverca to increase their offer for the transfer of midfielder Ahmed Nabil Kouka during the upcoming winter transfer window.
A source within Al Ahly stated that Alverca offered $200,000 to buy out the remaining six months of Kouka's contract with Al Ahly, which expires next June.
Al Ahly's Danish coach, Jesse Torp, welcomed the departure of Ahmed Nabil Kouka during the January transfer window, provided a replacement is secured. Al Ahly officials are currently negotiating with a potential replacement.
Kouka received an offer from Alverca in recent hours. The Danish coach is not opposed to Kouka's departure but wants a replacement secured, especially after Al Ahly officials informed him of strong negotiations with Moroccan left-back Youssef Belamri of Raja Casablanca.
