Al-Ahly club officials have completed the arrival of Spanish Jose Rivero, the former Orlando Pirates coach, to Cairo, in preparation for signing a contract to coach the Red Devils, succeeding Swiss Marcel Koller.
Rivero is expected to arrive in Cairo late Tuesday evening, after leading his team's final match against Orlando Pirates. He will resolve several thorny issues in his meeting with Al-Ahly officials, most notably his coaching staff.
Rivero has nominated Sergio Almenara to take over as assistant coach, Carlos Nodar Paz to assume the role of fitness coach and assistant coach, and Carlos Abad, Valencia's goalkeeping coach, to succeed Belgian Michel Jancone as Al-Ahly's goalkeeping coach.
Al-Ahly is close to signing Spanish coach José Rivero, the head coach of Orlando Pirates, to take over as the club's head coach, succeeding Swiss coach Marcel Koller.
