Al Ahly Clinch 41st Egyptian Premier League Title

Al Ahly have officially won their fourth Egyptian Premier League title in a row and their 41st domestic trophy overall with one game to spare after defeating Al Mokawloon (3-1) on Wednesday.

Al Ahly left-back Ali Maaloul put his side ahead after he managed to score the first goal in the 26th minute through a left-foot shot from the outside of the box.

Al Ahly midfielder Hussein El-Shahat doubled the scoring in the 65th minute through a right-foot shot from Al Mokawloon's penalty area.

El-Shahat secured his side win after he unleashed a right-foot shot from the inside of the box to score his second goal in the game.

Forward Saif Al-Jaziri scored Al-Mokawloon's goal in the first minute of the injury time.

The Red Devils are currently the undisputed league leaders with 77 points after 33 rounds. Followed by Zamalek with 72 points, Pyramids with 70 points and Al Masry 52 points.

On the other hand, Zamalek pulled off a 3-1 victory over Ismaily at Petro Sport stadium, but the whites' triumph was meaningless.

The White Knights defender Mahmoud Alaa gave his side the advantage in the 14th minute after he converted from the penalty spot. Ismaily forward Benson Shilongo equalized the scoring for his side in the 37th minute through a left-foot shot from the Whites' penalty area.

Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Said Zizo gave his side the lead again in the 47th minute. Forward Omar El-Saeed secured the victory by adding the third goal in the 59th minute.

Al-Ahly will play against Zamalek in the last match of the league on Sunday, July 28 (20:00 CLT).
